Holy Names University has been providing nursing education since 1957, when the first RN to BSN program in the US was offered here. Since then the Department of Nursing faculty have offered several options in nursing dependent on the changes occurring in healthcare. Currently, there are three undergraduate programs in nursing — RN to BSN, LVN to BSN, and the Generic Program offered in partnership with Samuel Merritt University (SMU) — offered at Holy Names University that are student-focused and scheduled at times convenient for the students in each program.
